The company was founded by Mr. Shanti Prasad Agarwala in Kolkata and started off with cylinder filling operations in Kalyani, West Bengal. It subsequently expanded into liquid production by setting a large scale unit in Uluberia, West Bengal. It also expanded geographically by setting up units in Vizag and Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh.
