Merlin Liis-Toomela

Merlin Liis-Toomela is an experienced attorney specializing in GDPR, intellectual property, and information technology law. Since January 2017, Merlin has been part of Ellex, a prominent Estonian law firm, where involvement has included major M&A transactions and landmark disputes. Prior to this role, Merlin worked at Eversheds Sutherland from May 2014 to December 2016, advising both Estonian and international clients on various legal matters, including data protection and intellectual property. Merlin holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Law from the University of Tartu, obtained between 2011 and 2016, and contributed to Eesti Õigusteaduse Üliõpilaste Liit as a management board member from September 2012 to October 2014. Early legal experience includes multiple trainee positions at various law firms.
