Nicholas Bannon, P.E. has over 15 years of experience in the maritime industry. From 2014 to present, they have been employed by the Elliott Bay Design Group as a Marine Engineer. In this role, they have provided engineering support for marine applications, with a focus on ferries and workboats. Nicholas'sexperience includes new system design and integration, vessel repower and hybridization, vessel inspections and construction support. Nicholas has also been proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, PipeFlo, ANSYS, NavCad, and Microsoft Office Suite. Notable project involvement includes the WSF Hybrid Electric, Staten Island Ferry, NCDOT aluminum passenger catamaran, NCDOT passenger/vehicle ferry, Governor's Island passenger ferry, M/V Woods Hole, and aluminum ferry construction support for multiple clients and vessels.

Prior to this, from 2005 to 2014, Nicholas Bannon, P.E. was employed by Emerald City Charters as a 100-ton Captain and Deckhand. As Captain, they were responsible for small business management, running day sails onboard 70-foot racing sailboats, maintaining/troubleshooting onboard systems, and overseeing maintenance projects during haul-out service. Nicholas also managed employees, operation of the boat, and passengers during sailing excursions, led maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and trained new employees to work as part of a team and conserve company values.

Nicholas Bannon, P.E. graduated from the University of Washington in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering.
