Robert Ekse

Robert Ekse has over 25 years of experience in the maritime industry. Robert began their career in 1991 as an Unlicensed Marine Engineer at American Trading and Transport. In 1993, they joined Crowley Maritime as a Port Engineer and Licensed Chief Engineer, where they operated and maintained diesel and steam power plants. In 2000, they moved to Alaska Ship and Drydock as a Project Manager, managing projects up to 12m. From 2004-2011, they worked at Alaska Marine Highway, first as a Vessel Construction Manager and then as a Senior Vessel Construction Manager. In 2011, they joined Vigor, LLC, where they held various roles, including Director of Operations, General Manager of Puget Sound Ship Repair, Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Special Projects Senior Manager. In 2018, they became President and Director of Project Operations at Elliott Bay Design Group, and later Project Manager.

Robert Ekse has a diverse educational background. Robert obtained an Executive MBA from the University of Washington's Michael G. Foster School of Business in 2015, where they studied Business and Leadership. In addition, they obtained an AAS from Southern Maine Technical College in 1991, where they studied Maine Science Engineering. Robert also holds various certifications, including a Torch + Everwise Mentor certificate from Torch obtained in 2018, a TWIC certificate from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) obtained in 2008, a Caterpillar 3606 Maintenance training certificate from Caterpillar Inc., a Competent Person certificate from OSHA, and a State of Alaska Construction Warrant, Level 1 certificate from the State of Alaska.
