Michael Auli

Michael Auli is a Principal Research Scientist and Director at Facebook since 2015, contributing to significant projects such as MMS, wav2vec, data2vec, and the development of the fairseq toolkit, which focuses on advancements in speech technology and neural machine translation. In addition, Michael serves as an Advisor at Ello since October 2022. Previous experience includes a researcher role at Microsoft Research (2012-2014) and a visiting researcher position at the Information Sciences Institute in 2009. Early professional experience involves internships at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and UBS Investment Bank in 2007 and 2008. Michael holds a PhD and a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence from The University of Edinburgh.
