Heather Sherwin

Director, Impact Investments at The ELMA Philanthropies

Heather Sherwin has worked as the Director of Impact Investments at The ELMA Philanthropies since October 2013. Prior to that, they served as an Investment Manager at IFHA from November 2010 to August 2013. Before joining IFHA, they worked as a Fund Manager at Bioventures from 2001 to 2010.

Heather Sherwin has a diverse educational background. Heather pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Cell Biology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which they completed in 1994. Following this, they enrolled in the University of Cape Town and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, which they completed in 1999. Currently, they are pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Economics and International Development from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), expected to be completed in 2021.
