Simon White has over 15 years of experience in audit and management roles. Simon started their career at Surrey County Council in 2003, where they worked as a Service Accountant and later as a Change Management Programme support. In 2006, they became a Lead Auditor, responsible for assessing internal control within Corporate Services. Simon then moved on to become an Audit Manager at the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in 2011, where they were in charge of organizing and managing the audit plan for two authorities. In 2014, Simon returned to Surrey County Council as an Audit Manager, leading the development and delivery of the annual Internal Audit plan. Simon also served as the Head of Audit Partnership at Elmbridge Borough Council starting from 2015. In 2018, they took on the role of Audit Manager (Counter Fraud) at Surrey County Council, providing proactive and reactive counter fraud services to partner councils and external clients. Throughout their career, Simon has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a commitment to promoting strong governance and continuous improvement.
Simon White attended Royal Grammar School Worcester from 1989 to 1996. Simon then went on to study at Lancaster University from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature.
