Robert Kovacs

Robert Kovacs has a strong background in food safety and quality assurance. ROBERT is currently serving as the Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Elmira Pet Products since March 2020. Prior to this, they held a similar position at Conestoga Meats from January 2015 to March 2020 and at Cargill from October 2010 to June 2011. Robert also has experience in managerial roles, having worked as the Manager of Food Safety and Quality Assurance at Conestoga Meats from June 2011 to January 2015, at L.H. Gray & Son Ltd. from November 2007 to July 2010, and at Clemmer Steelcraft Technologies Inc. from March 2006 to November 2007. ROBERT began their career as an Electrical Engineer and Project Manager at EnergoBit in January 2000 before transitioning into quality assurance roles.

Robert Kovacs began their education in 1995 at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2000. In 2005, they obtained a Diploma in Quality Assurance from Conestoga College.

Continuing their education, Kovacs pursued various certifications related to quality management. In 2006, they received a Certificate as a Certified Quality Engineer from the American Society for Quality. The same year, they also completed a Certificate course in ISO 9001 Internal Quality System Auditor from Business Growth Training.

In 2007, Kovacs obtained a Certificate as a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt from the American Society for Quality. ROBERT then achieved a Certificate as a Certified Quality Auditor from the same institution in 2008.

In 2010, Kovacs earned the designation of Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence from the American Society for Quality. In the following year, they obtained a Certificate in Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement for the Food & Beverage Industry from the Guelph Food Technology Centre.

Kovacs further expanded their expertise in quality assurance by obtaining a Certificate in HACCP from the Guelph Food Technology Center in 2008 and a Certificate as a Certified HACCP Auditor from the American Society for Quality in 2011.

To enhance their knowledge in food safety and quality assurance, Kovacs pursued a Master's Degree in Food Safety and Quality Assurance from the University of Guelph from 2013 to 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Kovacs has obtained multiple certifications, including Certified BRCGS Storage & Distribution Lead Auditor from BRCGS in 2023 and Certified BRCGS for Food Safety Lead Auditor from Intertek SAI Global in 2022. ROBERT also holds the certification of Certified Third Party BRC Auditor from NSF International in Canada, although the specific year of accomplishment is not provided.
