Almudena Valverde Villegas has a diverse work experience in the field of contracts, project management, and business development in the energy industry. Almudena started their career in 2002 as a Business Development Technician at Abener Energía, where they played a role in pre-qualification stages and applying for grants. Almudena then transitioned to become a Process/Mechanical Proposal Engineer, involved in the development of proposal engineering for power generation and biofuel plants.
In 2006, Almudena joined Abeinsa Business Development as a Proposal & Project Manager, where they led the preparation of worldwide bids for EPC and IPP contracts. Almudena also served as the Head of Proposal & Project Office, responsible for building and managing a proposal's office without the support of the main headquarters.
In 2015, they joined Abengoa Energía, S.A as a Contract Project Manager, overseeing contract projects and assuming the role of Dispute & Claim Management. In this role, they led the resolution of disputes through arbitral proceedings, coordinating a multidisciplinary in-house team and international legal advisors.
Currently, Almudena holds the position of Head of Contracts at ELMYA, starting in 2023.
Almudena Valverde Villegas pursued their Master of Science (MSc) in Chemical Engineering at the Universidad de Granada from 1996 to 2001. In 2013, they attended the Warsaw University of Technology to specialize in Gas Turbines and Combined Cycle in Contemporary Power Engineering. The same year, they also completed the Abengoa Management Skills Program, PHDA at the Krakow Business School in Poland. In 2011, Almudena Valverde Villegas obtained their Abengoa Project Management, DPA from the Universidad Loyola.
