Ximena Gutierrez Vasques

Ximena Gutierrez-Vasques has a diverse range of work experience spanning over a decade. Ximena is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universität Zürich since September 2019. Prior to this, they were a Collaborator at Elotl-MX starting from October 2018.

Ximena spent a significant amount of time at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) where they held multiple roles. From January 2014 to October 2018, they worked as a Lecturer and Profesora de asignatura. Simultaneously, they pursued a PhD in Language technologies for low-resource languages of Mexico (Spanish-Nahuatl) from August 2013 to August 2018.

During their time at UNAM, Ximena also worked as a Colaboradora at Grupo de Ingeniería lingüística UNAM from January 2010 to 2017. Ximena was involved in Revista ¿Cómo Ves? UNAM as an Intern from January 2009 to October 2010. Ximena also worked as an Intern at Instituto de Ingenieria UNAM from September 2009 to July 2010, focusing on extractive automatic summarization research for their thesis.

Ximena has additional experience as Coordinadora de innovación e investigación at UNAM Mobile from February 2013 to August 2013, and as a Language technologies consultant in the medical industry from May 2013 to July 2013.

Their early work experience includes an internship at Laboratorio de aplicaciones inalámbricas, Facultad de Ingeniería from January 2007 to January 2009.

Throughout their career, Ximena Gutierrez-Vasques has acquired a wide range of skills and expertise in language technologies, teaching, research, and collaboration.

Ximena Gutierrez-Vasques pursued their education in computer science and computational linguistics. Ximena completed a Master's Degree in these fields at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they also earned a Master's Degree in computer science and computational linguistics at Charles University, attending from 2010 to 2011. Ximena began their educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, where they studied from 2004 to 2009.
