Taylor Kent has significant work experience in the field of DevOps, with roles that span from 1999 to the present. They started their career as a Senior Business Analyst at First Bank/US Bank, where they designed and developed software and managed the help desk organization. From there, they worked at Shavlik Technologies as a Senior Software Consultant, Software Engineer, and Sustained Engineering Team Leader, where they developed software and managed a team. They then moved to Medtronic, where they served as an Application Build and Deploy Team Leader, compiling and managing source code and leading a team. After that, they worked at MakeMusic as a CI Engineer, creating and managing continuous delivery systems for various applications. At BuzzFeed, they worked as a Mobile Build Engineer, where they automated the build process and set up an Android device farm. Currently, they are working at eLumen, Inc. as the Director of DevOps, responsible for overseeing and managing the DevOps team.
Taylor Kent attended Naval Nuclear Power School from 1990 to 1991, where they studied Nuclear Reactor Operations. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1989, they attended the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and studied Computer Science and English. In addition to their education, Taylor Kent obtained a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance in May 2014.
