A.S.H.R.A.E. has studied the problem of thermal degradation. Within the first five years of a system’s life, efficiency degrades up to 30%. Thermal degradation prevents the equipment from operating at the original design efficiency leading to longer run times and additional kWh consumption.

- Oil fouling in condenser coils; this oil build-up degrades equipment immediately and accounts for up to 25 percent energy loss

- Exterior condenser coil degradation; high tech coil coating protects the exterior surfaces making them easier to clean and improves thermal conductivity

- Loss of efficiency/improved conductivity in closed water systems; new additive replaces Glycol, which decreases thermal transfer, and actually increases heat transfer much better than water

- Bio fouling in water systems; water filtration removes suspended particles down to a sub-micron level, thus protecting cooling towers and heat exchangers to their best efficiency
