Theo Breitenstein has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Theo began their career as a Research Technician in the R&D Department of Weber, Inc. in 1980, where they were responsible for conducting electro-mechanical testing and training apprentices. Theo then joined Inmark Corporation in 1986 as a Sales and Account Manager, handling applications engineering and direct sales in North America. In 1989, they joined ABB Power Systems, Ltd. as a Project Manager, Sales and Marketing, where they were responsible for worldwide sales activities and setting marketing strategies. Theo then took on the role of National Sales Manager at Studer Cable, Inc. in 1993, overseeing $40 million in sales and strategic planning for the Swiss market. In 1996, they became the President of Stocko Elektronic GmbH, before moving on to become President and General Manager of Kirsten North America, Inc. in 1998. During this time, they also served as President of C.D.M. North America, Inc., responsible for the start-up of the American subsidiary. In 2001, Theo founded Emacx Systems, Inc. and served as the President and Founder. Additionally, they were the President and Owner of Aciex, LLC. Overall, Theo Breitenstein has held executive and leadership roles throughout their career, focusing on sales, marketing, and overall management.

Theo Breitenstein has a diverse education history. Theo obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Power Transmission from the University of Lucerne in Switzerland, where they studied from 1981 to 1986. Additionally, they attended the Apprentice School for Electricians in Switzerland from 1975 to 1979 to become a certified electrician.

After completing their Bachelor's degree, Theo pursued further education and obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Theo attended this program from 1991 to 1993.

In addition to their formal education, Theo Breitenstein has also obtained several certifications in the field of energy management. Theo holds certifications as a Certified Demand Side Manager (CDSM), a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP) from the Association of Energy Engineers.
