Assistant National Country Manager (SE) and Enugu State Coordinator at Emani

Finian Ali's work experience begins in 2019 as a Volunteer - Programme Officer for Teenage Development for Africa (TEEN AFRICA). They performed administrative functions and program monitoring and evaluation duties. In 2020, they became a WLF Ambassador for the World Literacy Foundation, advocating and fundraising for literacy globally. From 2019 to 2021, Ali worked as a Programme Officer for Baywood Foundation, engaging in proposal writing, project design, and financial planning. In 2021, they served as the Program Manager for Empowerment for Boys Network Association (EBONA), providing leadership for activities and donor-funded projects. Ali also acted as the Secretary for the Civil Society Scaling up Nutrition in Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, keeping records and coordinating coalition meetings. Starting in 2021, they took on the role of Assistant National Country Manager (SE) and Enugu State Coordinator for Emani, coordinating consultancy engagement activities. In 2022, they became the Project Manager for the Initiative for the Advancement of Improved Health and Development Consortium (I-AIHD CONSORTIUM), leading the implementation of the Global Fund National Aligned HIV Initiative (GFHIV NAHI) Project. Also in 2022, they became a Member of the Enugu State Government Committee on Food and Nutrition, representing the Civil Society Scaling up Nutrition in Nigeria and providing technical assistance. In 2023, Ali joined the MSMTG Network Nigeria as a Steering Committee Member (National Advocacy/Communication Officer), coordinating interventions and advocating on MSMTG-related issues. Finally, they began working in 2022 as the National Youth Coordinator for the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, building a united movement of young people advocating for the importance of nutrition.

Finian Ali completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biochemistry from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, graduating in 2017. In 2019, Ali obtained a certification in Environmental Impact Assessment from the Department of Petroleum Resources. Later in 2019, Ali began pursuing a Master of Science degree in Migration Studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, specializing in the Center for Migration Studies. In 2018, Ali earned certifications in Basic First Aid/CPR from Novelle Center and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) 1, 2, and 3 from the British International Safety Organisation. Additionally, Ali obtained a certificate in Acquisition of Knowledge and Skills in Life Management and Self-Confidence from Purple; Voices for Change Key Influences Lead in 2015. In 2014, Ali completed Basic Executive Training on Human Resource and Skill Acquisition, specializing in leadership, entrepreneurship, and communication skills, at Mediterranic Resources in Abuja. Lastly, in 2018, Ali obtained a Certificate of Competence on completion of Competency-based Standard First Aid Course from the Nigeria Red Cross Society.
