Chris Washburn

Chris Washburn, CPA, serves as the Practice Leader for Accounting Outsourcing at Embark since January 2025, focusing on helping organizations outsource back-office functions. Prior to this role, Chris had a distinguished career at Pioneer Natural Resources Company from May 2005 to January 2025, culminating in the position of Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer, where responsibilities included directing accounting operations and communicating financial results to the executive team. Throughout the tenure at Pioneer, roles included Corporate Controller, Director of Accounting, Accounting Manager, Business Analyst, and Accounting Analyst, with significant achievements in managing financial reporting, leading the implementation of an integrated accounting system, and overseeing finance and accounting during major mergers and acquisitions. Chris holds a BBA/MPA in Accounting from West Texas A&M University, earned between 2001 and 2006.
