Geoff Barnett is an accomplished events professional with extensive experience in managing scientific conferences and training courses, currently serving as Head of the Course and Conference Office at EMBL since May 2016. Previously, Geoff held key roles at London Metropolitan University, including Head of Commercial Businesses, Corporate & Commercial Events Manager, and Business Development Manager from September 2003 to April 2016. Additional experience includes serving as Events Manager at the University of North London and working in events and venue management at The Rocket. As a founder partner at Its Obvious - Live Events, Geoff led live music and arts events in Leeds. Geoff holds a Bachelor’s Degree in German Language & Literature with Italian from the University of Leeds, obtained between 1989 and 1993.
