Thomas Russell

Thomas Russell is a Data Science and Machine Learning Specialist at EMBL since May 2022, focusing on time series modeling and the design of high-performance machine learning pipelines for neuro-behavioral experiment data. Previously, Thomas served as a Senior ML/AI Data Scientist at Fintica, where advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques were applied to high-dimensional time series datasets for asset allocation methodologies. Earlier career stages included a Postdoctoral Fellow at ETH Zürich, where neuronal electrophysiology and RNA sequencing were conducted, and additional postdoctoral research at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research. Thomas completed a Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley, and is currently pursuing an online Master's in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology, alongside a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida.
