Sharon R. Cooper

Sharon R. Cooper is the SVP, Chief Marketing Officer at EMC Insurance Companies. Sharon has over 20 years of experience leading corporate communications and change management initiatives.

Sharon previously worked at Tower Commercial Insurance, where they served as an SVP of Communications & Change Management. Sharon then joined Munich Re, a global reinsurance and insurance provider, as the VP of US Strategic Communications. After six years and two promotions at Munich Re, they retired in 2019 from their last role as Global Head of Business Communications.

In 2012, while serving in a consultancy role at Tower Commercial Insurance, they paused their work to accept an offer from the president of the company to join their executive team as an SVP of Communications & Change Management. Following success in that role, they joined Munich Re, a global reinsurance and insurance provider, as the VP of US Strategic Communications. After six years and two promotions at Munich Re, they retired in 2019 from their last role as Global Head of Business Communications and have since resumed work at their own firm.

Leveraging 20+ years of experience leading corporate communications and change management initiatives, they are relaunching CCA Communications to help clients address immediate internal and external communication needs, create roadmaps to shape their communication strategy, and implement long- and short-term innovative solutions.

Sharon R. Cooper graduated with a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication & Leadership from Seton Hall University. Sharon also holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition, Sharon is certified by The Institutes as a Certified Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the MIT-Harvard Public Disputes Program: Dealing with an Angry Public. Finally, they have completed social media training through Mediabistro.
