Zara Zaman

Zara Zaman has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Zara is currently the Head of Platform at Emerge Education, a community-powered seed fund that invests in companies using innovation and technology to bridge the gap between people seeking opportunities and industry.

Prior to this, Zara was a Founding Member of the Edtech Founders Club, a professional network for early-stage founders, builders, and investors. Zara was also the Co-founder and Director of edventure, a professional network for entrepreneurs, where they organized various programs and conferences to support founders and researchers.

Zara has also gained experience as an On Deck Catalyst Fellow at On Deck and as a Solve It 2021 Winner at McKinsey & Company. Zara was part of a team that worked on strategy problems for a leading third-sector organization.

Additionally, Zara has worked as a Consultant at FreshSight Ltd., a student-run consultancy firm, where they provided advice and conducted research for a social enterprise. Zara also served as the Head of Client Services and Client Services Officer at The Wednesday Group LLP, gaining experience in managing client relations and overseeing projects.

Zara has a background in social impact work, as they have worked as a Consultant for the COVID-19 Student Response Network, supporting third-sector organizations and providing innovative solutions during the pandemic. Zara has also worked as a Founder of UCAN, a project focused on positive social change.

Lastly, Zara gained experience as a Consulting Intern at The Specialists, where they further developed their skills in the consulting field.

Zara Zaman has studied Foreign Languages and Literatures at The University of Edinburgh, where they pursued an MA degree in French, Arabic, and Middle Eastern Studies. Additionally, they completed an Annual Arabic Course at the Institut français du Proche-Orient (Ifpo), focusing on Arabic Language and Literature.
