A'shanti F. Gholar has extensive experience in political engagement and leadership roles, currently serving as President and National Political Director at Emerge since April 2016, and as the Founder of The Brown Girls Guide to Politics since April 2018. Previously, A'shanti held significant positions at the Democratic National Committee, including National Deputy Director of Community Engagement and Director of African American Engagement from August 2014 to April 2016. Additional roles include Manager of National Partnerships at United Way Worldwide, Special Assistant to the Secretary of Labor at the U.S. Department of Labor during the Obama Administration, and Director of Public Engagement for the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee. Earlier career experiences include Deputy Regional Political Director at the Democratic National Committee and Field Director for Berkley for Congress.
