EMERGE
Leslie Hernandez is an experienced Program Manager at EMERGE, serving since August 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Financial Aid College Advisor with the Houston Independent School District from February to July 2022. From August 2019 to July 2021, Leslie worked with Jolt Action as a Climate and Redistricting Organizer and also served as a Census Organizer & GOTV Training Specialist at Jolt Initiative during the same period, focusing on community outreach to raise awareness around the 2020 census in Latinx neighborhoods. Earlier professional background includes an internship and mentorship coordination at The Law Office of Patrick Gendron, where Leslie observed court proceedings and mentored detainees from January to May 2019. Leslie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University, where involvement included serving as an Event Supervisor from October 2016 to May 2019.
