Andrew Brown

Andrew Brown is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh since August 2009, where Andrew developed a patent-pending synthetic bone graft material for dental and craniofacial applications and led entrepreneurial efforts in a Lean Startup Workshop. As the Founder and CEO of Emergence Dental from 2019 to 2023 and an Artificial Heart Biomedical Engineer at UPMC from 2012 to 2023, Andrew managed various ventricular assist device patients and collaborated with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Additional roles include serving as Assistant Director at sciVelo, Program Manager at bioStratica, and contributing to educational outreach in tissue engineering at the Pittsburgh Tissue Engineering Initiative. Andrew holds a PhD in Bioengineering and a BS in Bioengineering, Biomechanics from the University of Pittsburgh.
