Fern Mandelbaum

Managing Director, Venture Investing at Emerson Collective

Fern Mandelbaum is a venture capitalist and advisor who has worked with some of the most innovative companies in Silicon Valley. Fern is currently the managing director of venture investing at Emerson Collective.

Mandelbaum began their career as a lecturer in management at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business and School of Engineering. Fern then transitioned into the corporate world, working as an advisor at STARTX, a Stanford-affiliated accelerator that helps entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful businesses.

In 2013, Mandelbaum joined Accompany, a startup that was later acquired by Cisco, as an advisor. During their time there, they helped the company grow and scale, ultimately leading to its successful sale.

After Accompany, Mandelbaum became a partner at Monitor Ventures, where they helped invest in and grow many successful startups, including Kanjoya, Inc., which was acquired by Ultimate Software in 2017.

Most recently, Mandelbaum has been working with Emerson Collective, a social impact organization founded by Laurene Powell Jobs. At Emerson, Mandelbaum is using their experience and expertise to help invest in companies that are making a positive impact on society.

Fern Mandelbaum attended Stuyvesant High School before going to Brown University for their BA in Economics. Fern then attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business for their MBA.
