Reinhard Baumfalk

Reinhard Baumfalk currently holds the position of VP Global Engineering in Discrete Automation at Emerson, a role commenced in December 2023. Previously, Reinhard was the Head of Product Development for the LPS Division at Sartorius from August 2018 to November 2023, overseeing a global team of over 250 employees. Prior to that, Reinhard served as Vice President of R&D Instrumentation & Control at Sartorius Stedim Biotech, managing a global R&D team focused on instruments, sensor technology, and automation. Reinhard's extensive experience at Sartorius includes roles as VP of R&D Mechatronics and VP of Operations for Instruments, starting in 2001 as R&D Manager in the Biotechnology Division. Academic qualifications include a Postdoc and PhD in Physics from the Max Planck Society, as well as a Master's degree from The University of Göttingen, preceded by undergraduate studies in Physics at Technische Universität Braunschweig and the University of Vienna.
