Cara Wessels Wells, PhD, is the Founder and CEO of EmGenisys, a role assumed in June 2019, with a mission centered on innovative breeding technologies. Prior to this, Cara co-founded and served as Chief Scientific Officer at Embryotics from November 2017 to January 2019. Additional experience includes working as an Accelerator company representative at BioTools Innovator in 2024, and various academic and research positions at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and Texas Tech University, where duties ranged from lab assistance to coordinating educational programs for underprivileged youth. Cara began an academic career with a Doctor of Philosophy in Reproductive Physiology in Animal Science from Texas Tech University, where a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science was also completed. Early experience includes research and technical roles at Howard Hughes Medical Institute and Lake Olympia Animal Hospital.
