Mohammed Dalwai is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in emergency medicine and healthcare innovation. As Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at Essential Medical Guidance since March 2016, Mohammed has contributed to advancing medical guidance and supporting healthcare efforts in low-resource settings. Mohammed completed a PhD at the University of Cape Town from 2013 to 2017, focusing on the reliability of the South African Triage Scale in low-resource environments, informed by fieldwork with Médecins Sans Frontières in various challenging locations. As Director and Co-Founder of TOMPSA from April 2012 to December 2017, the initiative aimed to empower healthcare workers through mobile technology. Additional roles include serving as President of MSF Southern Africa, TED Fellow in 2014, and positions as an emergency doctor and surgical officer at various medical institutions. Mohammed earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Stellenbosch University in 2007.
