Karim Shanawani

Karim Shanawani is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in corporate banking and relationship management. Currently serving as Vice President at Emirates Development Bank since October 2022, Karim previously held the position of Relationship Manager in the Wholesale Banking Group at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank from February 2018 to October 2022, where responsibilities included developing credit relationships and managing transactions for large corporate clients. Prior to that, Karim managed a corporate portfolio as a Relationship Manager at Emirates Islamic from October 2013 to February 2018, specializing in structured financing for government entities in the power and telecommunications sectors. Additional experience includes a role as a Credit Analyst at Commercial Bank International and earlier positions in customer care and front office operations. Karim's educational background includes a CMP in Management from Harvard Business School and a degree in Accounting and Finance from the Faculty of Commerce.
