Dr. Faraj Almehairbi

International Aid Unit Head, Development & International Cooperation at Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) | الهلال الأحمر الإماراتي

Dr. Faraj Almehairbi has had extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Dr. Faraj currently works at the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) as the International Aid Unit Head, Development & Intl. Cooperation. In this role, they have been involved in providing aid during the Covid-19 pandemic by working closely with volunteers and supplying medical equipment and supplies to hospitals. Dr. Faraj also ensures that international patients from deprived communities receive appropriate healthcare.

Prior to this, Dr. Almehairbi worked as the Senior Executive Doctor, Development & Intl. Cooperation, and as the Volunteer Section Head at the Emirates Red Crescent. In these roles, they managed teams, organized awareness programs, and optimally utilized volunteers to save costs and achieve departmental goals.

Before joining ERC, they served as the Head of Strategy and Sustainability at Khalid Faraj Mehairbi Establishment, where they played a crucial role in reviving the profitability of the company by implementing new business models. Dr. Faraj also founded and managed their own medical practice clinic, Farai Clinic, where they handled all aspects of establishing the business, including licensing, advertising, and collaborating with insurance companies.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Almehairbi worked as the QHSE Manager at Liwa Marine Services and as an Intern/Resident Doctor at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City.

Dr. Faraj Almehairbi's educational history begins with their Bachelor of Science degree in Medicine and Surgery from Gulf Medical University, which they obtained in an unspecified year prior to 2005. Dr. Faraj then pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, where they studied Business Administration and Management from 2017 to 2019.

Recently, in 2022, Dr. Almehairbi attended the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, where they earned a Master's degree in Humanitarian Action and Development. Additionally, they obtained several certifications from different institutions. In 2020, they received a certification in Verified International Academic Qualifications from the World Education Services. In 2022, they obtained certifications in Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, and Operations Management from the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) in the UAE.

In previous years, Dr. Almehairbi pursued several additional certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. In 2018, they completed the Leadership in Social & Volunteer Sector training offered by Emirates Red Crescent (ERC). In 2017, they participated in the Knowledge Exchange in Results-Based Management in International Cooperation - Part I & II, conducted by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. In 2016, they completed the Management of Disasters & Crisis program by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Social Enterprise Bootcamp Training organized by the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development. In 2015, they acquired the Humanitarian Charter & Minimum Standards of Humanitarian Response certification from the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC). Lastly, in 2013, they completed the Search & Reunion of War Casualties training offered by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
