Jay Varkey

Jay Varkey currently serves as the Chief Quality Officer, Hospital Epidemiologist, and Director of Antibiotic Stewardship at Emory University Hospital, a role held since September 2009. In addition, Jay holds the position of Associate Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine, having transitioned from Assistant Professor of Medicine. Prior experience includes a fellowship in Infectious Diseases and residency at Duke University School of Medicine from July 2002 to July 2009. Jay Varkey earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and Political Science from Marquette University.
