Michael Hödlmoser

Michael Hödlmoser has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Michael started their career as a Software Engineer and Master Thesis Preparation at SAGEMCOM in 2008, followed by a role as a C++ Software Engineer at Vasco Data Security in 2009. Michael then worked as a Research Associate at Vienna University of Technology and as a Technical Project Manager at CogVis GmbH from 2009 to 2013. In 2012, Michael was a Visiting PhD Student at ETH Zurich. Michael also worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at AIT - Austrian Institute of Technology in 2013. From 2014 to 2016, they served as a Technical Project Manager at Siemens, managing 3D reconstruction and thermal imaging projects. In 2016, Michael became a Researcher at B&R Industrial Automation. Currently, they are the CTO at emotion3D, where they lead a team of 30+ engineers in developing in-cabin monitoring computer vision solutions for the automotive industry. Additionally, Michael is an External Expert for the European Commission, evaluating research proposals.

Michael Hödlmoser completed their Matura degree at BORG Mittersill from 1999 to 2003. Michael then attended the Fachhochschule Salzburg from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a DI(FH) degree in Information Technology and Systems Management. In 2006, Michael participated in a Study Abroad Program at Hawaii Pacific University. Finally, from 2009 to 2013, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with Distinction in Computer Science at the Technische Universität Wien.
