Fatma Abid has extensive work experience in the field of engineering, with a focus on noise and vibrations. Fatma started their career at EDF as a Simulation Engineer Assistant, where they worked on evaluating and validating mesh sub-structuring methods. Fatma also studied parallel computing with the MUMPS solver. After that, they joined Renault Group as a Junior Research and Development Engineer, where their main project involved studying a new method of control for engine vibrations. Fatma then moved on to Valeo, where they worked as a Research and Development Engineer, focusing on developing an identification method for investigating the thermal behavior of mechatronic products during transient simulations. Fatma also worked on an industrial product, successfully applying the method to a lighting system. Following Valeo, they joined Groupe PSA as a Methodology and NVH simulation Engineer, and then moved to their current role at Emotors as a Noise and Vibrations Engineer.
Fatma Abid started their education in 2006 at IPEST in Tunisia, where they completed French preparatory classes. Fatma then attended SUPMECA from 2008 to 2010, earning a Master's Degree in Simulation in Mechanical Design. From 2010 to 2011, Fatma studied at CentraleSupélec and obtained another Master's Degree in Dynamics, Structures, Materials & Coupled Systems. Finally, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from 2011 to 2014 at the Doctoral School Ecole Centrale de Paris, specifically in the LISMMA Laboratory, focusing on Sciences.
