Erin Hanafy has over 19 years of experience in content creation, editorial leadership, and brand-building. In 2021, they began working as Senior Content Lead for Empathy, creating industry-leading thought leadership, content marketing, and UX for the startup. Since launching, Empathy has been a finalist for the 2022 Apple Design Awards, one of Google Play's Best Apps of 2021, and on Fast Company's most innovative companies list. In 2020, they became Head of Editorial for obé Fitness, owning the brand voice and messaging at all touchpoints. The high-growth startup was named best fitness brand by Adweek in 2021. From 2016 to 2020, they served as Executive Editor and Editor-at-Large for Well+Good, leading an editorial team of eight full-time staffers and a large network of freelance writers and editors. Her work was honored with two Webby Award wins and a spot on Fast Company’s 2018 list of most innovative companies. From 2013 to 2016, they were Director of Global Communications for Nielsen, elevating and expanding the company’s thought leadership output and leading brand-building and competitive thought leadership initiatives. From 2010 to 2013, they were Copy Chief for The Daily, News Corp., leading a department of six editors and taking the publication from concept to launch in three months. From 2002 to 2010, they worked for the Associated Press, starting as an online desk editor and being promoted several times, eventually becoming Interactive Design and Graphics Editor.

Erin Hanafy received their Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of North Texas and is a Certified Integrative Nutrition and Health Counselor (Ayurveda Focus) from the New York Open Center in Health and Wellness, General.
