Kortnee McCall-Simmons has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Kortnee served as the Chief Executive Officer for The Lark Agency, where they built and managed brands related to music, live music, and literary endeavors. Kortnee also worked as an Executive Producer and On-Air Personality for Rhythm & Views at RADIO KINGSTON CORP. In addition, Kortnee had a recording artist role at EMPIRE - Distribution | Recordings | Publishing. Kortnee gained policy research experience as a Policy Research Intern at the New York State Senate. Kortnee also worked as an Education Coordinator at the Library at The A.J. Williams-Myers African Roots Center, where they facilitated the development of educational programs. Kortnee served as a Community Organizer at Citizen Action of New York, where they built relationships with community organizations and leaders. Kortnee also worked as a Voice Teacher at the School of Rock and as a Human Resources Manager at Limber Tree Services, Inc., where they focused on policy implementation and employee training.

Kortnee McCall-Simmons began their education in 2010 at Okeechobee High School, where they earned their High School Diploma in General Studies. Following this, they attended Trinity Bible College in 2015, obtaining a Doctor of Divinity (DDiv) degree with a field of study in Divinity/Ministry. In 2017, Kortnee enrolled at Harvard University and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General in 2021.

In 2020, Kortnee pursued further education at SUNY Ulster and received an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Criminal Justice in 2021. Additionally, they obtained several certifications, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention from Cornell University in June 2016, EFSET EXPRESS High Proficiency (CEFR C1/C2) from EF Education First in May 2015, Post-Prison Release Mentorship Certification from New York State DOCCS in December 2014, and Notary Public Commission from the New York State Department of State in January 2021.
