James Morris

VP Credit Department at Empire National Bank

James Morris has over 20 years of experience in the banking industry. James began their career in 1992 as a VP Commercial Real Estate Loan Officer at The Dime Savings Bank of New York, where they originated up to $100 million of new commercial real estate loans annually. In 2005, they moved to TD Bank, successor to Commerce Bank, as a VP Senior Credit Underwriter, where they underwrote and managed all types of commercial real estate and construction loans. In 2006, they joined Bridgehampton National Bank (BNB) (Legacy Madison National Bank) as a VP Commercial Loan Officer, where they exercised credit approval authority within policy limits and sourced and managed multiple construction loans to successful completion. In 2011, they were promoted to Credit Administration Manager/VP and First Vice President/Credit Risk Manager at Bridgehampton National Bank, where they co-wrote credit policy for First National Bank of New York. In 2015, they moved to Popular Community Bank as a Commercial Real Estate Underwriter and was subsequently recruited to Suffolk County National Bank as a VP Lead Credit Underwriter, where they managed a team of senior credit underwriters supporting two C&I lending teams. In 2017, they became a Consultant at Private Client Bank, where they successfully completed a seven-month engagement to assist in managing the annual cycle of regulatory audits and reviewed credit policy and proposed policy enhancements. Finally, in 2018 they joined Empire National Bank as a VP Credit Department.

James Morris obtained a BS in Business Management from St. John's University, followed by an MBA in Finance from the same institution. In 2001, they obtained a General Real Estate Appraiser certification from NYS.
