Duncan Garrood

Duncan Garrood is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leading and advising diverse businesses across various sectors. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Empiric Student Property plc since September 2020, Duncan oversees a portfolio of premium accommodation for students at top UK universities. Additionally, Duncan holds the position of Senior Independent Non Executive Director at The Brighton Pier Group PLC and previously worked as Senior Business Advisor at Blue Crescent Capital. Notably, Duncan has held leadership roles as CEO at Ten Entertainment Group Plc, Bill's Restaurants, and Punch (Taverns), and was President of Food at M. H. Alshaya Co. from 2009 to 2015. Duncan's educational background includes a PhD in Biochemistry from Imperial College London and A levels in Science from Westcliff High School for Boys.
