Victor Borges

Victor Borges has worked in the data science field since 2015. Victor began their career as an Intern Researcher at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2015, followed by a role as a Data Analyst at Walltime in 2016. In 2018, they joined Itaú Unibanco where they worked in both the Data Engineering Department and the Risk and Credit Modelling Department. In 2019, they moved to End-to-End Analytics as an Associate - Data Scientist, where they were involved in client-facing sales activities. In 2020, they joined Glean as an NLP Data Scientist and then in 2022 they took on the role of Founding Data Scientist at Souq G-Commerce. In this role, they explored and processed blockchain transactional data and predicted prices for gaming NFTs, created and improved ETLs, and deployed models. Currently, they are a Senior Data Scientist at Empower.

Victor Borges has a diverse educational background. Victor obtained a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Uberlândia - UFU in 2016, and a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Project Management from USP - Universidade de São Paulo in 2018. In 2021 they began pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Additionally, they obtained a Graduate certificate in Data Science from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA in 2018 and a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. Victor has also obtained several certifications from Microsoft and IBM, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Big Data Foundations - Level 1, Big Data Foundations - Level 2, Hadoop Data Access - Level 1, Hadoop Foundations - Level 1, Hadoop Programming - Level 1, and Spark - Level 1.
