Henry Scharf has a diverse work experience in the maritime industry. Henry started their career in 2005 as a 3rd Assistant Engineer at the Military Sealift Command, where they were responsible for maintaining specified equipment on unmanned vessels. After six years in this role, they became a 2nd Assistant Engineer, overseeing main machinery and ensuring proper maintenance of equipment in the Engine Room and on deck. In 2015, Henry obtained a 1st A/E License and was promoted to 1st Assistant Engineer, leading the Engine Department personnel and preparing for deployments and shipyard periods. Since 2018, they have been working as a Senior Marine Engineer at Emprise Corporation.

Henry Scharf obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University Maritime Academy. Henry attended the university from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained several certifications throughout their career. In January 2005, they became an Engineer-In-Training certified by the California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. In March 2004, they obtained EPA-Universal certification from the Refrigeration Environmental Protection Association, Inc. In May 2020, they received the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA. Finally, in December 2016, they obtained certifications as a 1st Assistant Engineer - Motor, 2nd Assistant Engineer - Steam, and 3rd Assistant Engineer - Gas Turbine from the U.S. Coast Guard.
