Vanessa Wielenga M.S., R.D. is the Development Director at No More Empty Pots, where they focus on healthy food access in communities through program development and coordination. They began their career as a WIC Nutrition Educator at Family Service Lincoln in 2014 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics/Dietitian and a Master of Science in Community Nutrition and Health Promotion from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to their current role, they served as an Associate Extension Educator at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2016 to 2024 and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant from 2012 to 2014. Vanessa began their journey in community wellness in 2013, working with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Women, Infants & Children, which solidified their passion for promoting healthy choices in various food environments.
