Shamim Futloo has a diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Shamim began their career at Emtel in 2002 as the Chief Telecommunication Technician. After four years in this role, they moved up to become the IT Project Coordinator from June 2006 to February 2011. Shamim then became the Head of Core Network from March 2011 to November 2014. In November 2014, they transitioned to the role of Product Manager and held this position until January 2019. Currently, Shamim serves as the Head Business Service Account Management at Emtel, starting in January 2019.
Shamim Futloo has a diverse education history spanning multiple fields and institutions. Shamim obtained a Diploma in Information Technology from NCC Education in 2003. In 2004, they became a Microsoft Certified Professional, followed by a Microsoft Certified System Administrator in 2004 and a Microsoft Certified System Engineer in 2004 as well. Shamim then became an Intelligent Short Message System Centre Engineer in 2003. In 2005, Shamim acquired certifications as a Gateway GPRS Support Node Engineer and Serving GPRS Support Node Engineer from Huawei Technologies. Shamim also became a Real Time Billing System ver 4 Engineer from Comverse in the same year. In 2006, they acquired the certifications of Blackberry Certified Enterprise Sales Associate from BlackBerry and CASS B-MAX Certified Alvarion System Specialist from Alvarion Ltd. In 2008, Shamim received an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology from NCC Education. Moving forward, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mobile Communication, which they completed with distinction from the University of Technology, Mauritius in 2012. Additionally, they received certifications in System Architecture Evolution from Huawei Technologies in 2012 and MPLS/IP Traffic Engineering from Telefocal Asia Pte Ltd in 2011. Shamim continued their education with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management, obtaining their degree with merit from the University of Technology, Mauritius in 2015. During this time, they became a member of the Project Management Institute and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in 2015 and 2014, respectively. Shamim also obtained a Skippers License from the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority in 2013.
