Jean-Christophe Baret

Jean-Christophe Baret has a diverse and extensive work experience in various scientific and academic roles. Jean-Christophe started their career in 2002 as a PhD student at the University of Twente, followed by a position as a Research Scientist at Philips Research Laboratories Eindhoven. Jean-Christophe later worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Strasbourg and then became a Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Selforganization from 2009 to 2014. In 2014, Jean-Christophe Baret joined the CNRS - Centre national de la recherche scientifique as a Team Leader and also became a Full Professor at the Université de Bordeaux. Jean-Christophe has been serving as Editor for Microfluidics and Nanofluidics since 2015. In 2016, they became a Professor at the Institut Universitaire de France and founded Emulseo in 2018, where they currently hold the position of Founder & Scientific Advisor.

Jean-Christophe Baret pursued their education in various prestigious institutions. Jean-Christophe began their academic journey at Lycée Henri IV from 1996 to 1998, where they completed their PCSI/PC* degree. Jean-Christophe then moved on to ESPCI Paris - PSL, where they obtained an Engineer's Degree in Physics and Chemistry from 1998 to 2002. Following this, they attended Pierre and Marie Curie University from 2001 to 2002, earning a Master's Degree in Physics of Fluids. Finally, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) at the University of Twente from 2004 to 2005, specializing in the field of study known as Physics of Complex Fluids.
