Derek Barros

Derek Barros has a diverse work experience across various industries. Derek currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at The Therapy Company LLC, where they began in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Clinician at Inclusion Family Counseling Center starting in October 2020.

Derek also has experience in the education sector, working at Brockton Public Schools as a School adjustment counselor, Monitor Teacher Assistant, and SEI Paraprofessional. Derek'smain responsibilities included advocating for students with mental illnesses and assisting them in their daily tasks and academic success.

In addition, Derek has been involved in community activism as a Community Activist in Brockton. Derek has also served as an Assistant Football Coach and Eucharistic Minister at Cardinal Spellman High School.

Derek has been engaged in various leadership roles during their time at Plymouth State University, including Chair of Communications Committee (Student Senate), Alumni Fellow, Representative at Large (Student Senate), Model UN Member, Criminal Justice Ambassador, International Students Association, and Admissions Representative.

Derek has also held positions at Enactus as VP of Recruitment and Marketing, Royal Auto Rentals Inc. as CEO, United Nations Association of Greater Boston as an Intern, and City of Brockton as an Intern Probation Officer.

Derek Barros attended Cardinal Spellman High School from 2008 to 2012. Derek then pursued a degree in Political Science at Plymouth State University from 2012 to 2016. Later, from 2016 to 2018, Derek pursued their interest in counseling by completing a degree in School Adjustment & Mental Health Counseling at Cambridge College.
