Alaa Ahmad

Alaa Ahmad has a strong background in clinical pharmacology, with over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Alaa currently holds the position of Vice President of Clinical Pharmacology at Enanta Pharmaceuticals, where they have been since January 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of Clinical Pharmacology at Enanta Pharmaceuticals in 2020. From 2017 to 2019, Alaa was the Senior Director of Clinical Pharmacology at Enanta Pharmaceuticals.

Before joining Enanta Pharmaceuticals, Alaa worked at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals as the Senior Director and Head of Clinical Pharmacology from September 2016 to January 2017. Prior to that, they were employed at Pfizer as the Director of Clinical Pharmacology from November 2012 to September 2016. Alaa also worked at Hoffman La Roche as the In Silico Area Head of Virology and Inflammation from April 2012 to November 2012.

Earlier in their career, Alaa held the position of Director of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics at Bristol-Myers Squibb from November 2009 to April 2012. Alaa began their career at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where they served as the Associate Director of Clinical Pharmacology from May 2005 to October 2009, which was their highest position at that company.

Alaa Ahmad obtained a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from the University of Jordan, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Clinical Pharmacology at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2002 to 2005.
