Encare - Enhancing ERAS®
Eric Herwin is an experienced software developer currently working at Encare - Enhancing ERAS® since June 2023, with previous roles at Mathem and Decerno AB, where projects involved full-system development using programming languages such as C#, Typescript, and Python, hosted on Azure and on-premises. Eric's academic background includes a Master's degree in Statistics and Machine Learning and a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and Data Analysis from Linköping University. During an academic stint, a master thesis focused on optimizing machine process parameters using statistical and machine learning techniques, while experience as a teaching assistant in statistical courses included conducting seminars and grading assignments. Additional consultancy work in statistics and analytics involved utilizing R and Python for statistical modeling and data visualization.

The data collected in EIAS is interactive and offers immediate feedback generating significant and sustainable improvement of efficiency and quality of care as well as generate substantial cost savings. Encare has the rights to commercialize surgical protocols developed by the ERAS® Society. The ERAS® Society, a non-profit scientific organization, develops perioperative care protocols and improves postoperative recovery through research, education, auditing and the application of scientific, evidence-based best practice. ERAS® Society has published a wide range of peer-reviewed publications that establishes, changes and updates best practice.
