Zi Mei (Rita) Jiang

Rita Jiang has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. From 2023 onwards, they worked as a Scientist at Encoded Therapeutics Inc. Prior to that, from 2019 to 2022, they held various roles at Demetrix, including Scientist and Senior Associate Scientist. At Demetrix, they focused on whole genome sequencing, yeast RNA-seq pipeline development, and high throughput DNA build pipeline optimization. Before joining Demetrix, Rita worked at Mendel Biological Solutions from 2011 to 2019 as a Research Associate and Research Associate II. At Mendel Biological Solutions, they utilized automated qRT-PCR and next generation sequencing strategies to study plant gene expression and performed abiotic stress assays on various crops. Additionally, they worked as a Patient Advocate at Paul Hom Asian Clinic in 2011, providing primary care health services for Chinese patients. Zi Mei (Rita) also has prior experience as a Research Intern and Laboratory Assistant at Starr Lab, where they investigated nuclear membrane proteins and performed various laboratory tasks. Rita also volunteered at UC Davis Medical Center in 2011, assisting in the department of Out Patient Physical Therapy.

Zi Mei (Rita) Jiang attended the University of California, Davis from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In December 2015, they obtained a SAS Certified Base Programmer certification from SAS.
