Nigel Beard has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, including positions as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Nigel is currently the CTO at Encodia, a company that specializes in single-cell DNA analysis. Nigel Beard has a passion for helping researchers and clinicians unlock single-cell biology to enable the discovery, development, and delivery of precision medicine.

Before joining Encodia, Nigel Beard was the CTO & SVP of R&D and Operations at Mission Bio, a company that is moving precision medicine forward with single-cell DNA analysis at speed and scale. Nigel Beard was responsible for leading the technical strategic vision and R&D and operational execution at Mission Bio.

Previously, Nigel Beard was the COO and CTO at Feetz Inc, an award-winning disruptive 3D printing start-up. At Feetz Inc, Nigel Beard was responsible for the technical strategic vision and R&D and operational execution. Nigel also led the team that built and scaled a "World's 1st" high-tech manufacturing 4.0 facility from idea to 1000+ pairs/ month in under 18 months. This facility reduces carbon footprint by >60% to traditional systems - a cradle-to-cradle business model that is as good for the world as it is for consumers.

Nigel Beard attended De Montfort University, where they received a BS in Applied Chemistry. Nigel then attended Loughborough University, where they received an MS in Analytical Chemistry & Instrumentation. Finally, they attended Imperial College London, where they received a PhD in Microfluidics.

They work with Mark Raterman - VP of People & Culture, Kenneth Kuhn - VP of Product Development, and Paul Kitabjian - Head of Manufacturing. Nigel Beard reports to Mark Chee, Co-Founder & President.
