Ed Mowen

President, MidAtlantic Region at Encompass Health

Ed Mowen is the current President of the MidAtlantic Region at Encompass Health. Ed has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry, working as a controller at various hospitals throughout their career.

Mowen began their career as an accountant at St Mary's Hospital in 1983. Ed then moved to Tanner Medical Center in 1987, where they worked as a controller for three years. In 1990, they joined PROMINA Health System, where they worked as a controller for eight years. During their time at PROMINA, they also worked at Paulding Memorial Hospital, Douglassville and Cobb hospitals.

In 1998, Mowen left PROMINA to join Piedmont Fayette Hospital as their controller. Ed then moved to Matria Healthcare in 2000, where they served as VP Finance for five years. During their time at Matria, they also worked at Paulding Memorial Hospital, Douglassville and Cobb hospitals.

In 2005, Mowen joined HealthSouth Rehab Hospitals as their regional controller. Ed worked at Paulding Memorial Hospital, Douglassville and Cobb hospitals during their six years with HealthSouth.

Mowen joined Encompass Health in 2011 and has been with the company ever since. Ed was recently named President of the MidAtlantic Region in 2019.

Ed Mowen's educational career in accounting began at St. Ambrose University.

They are on a team with David Klementz - Chief Strategy & Development Officer, Linda Wilder - President, Southeast Region, and Doug Coltharp - EVP, CFO. Ed Mowen reports to Mark J. Tarr, President & CEO.
