Jim Nottingham

VP & General Counsel at Encore Electric

Jim Nottingham is the Vice President of Risk Management & General Counsel at Encore Electric. Jim supports Encore’s mission to be all things power, technology, and energy by proactively identifying and mitigating risk throughout the organization. He collaborates with Encore’s executive team, its Board of Directors, and its project teams by providing legal advice, dispute resolution, strategic risk assessment, policy development, contract review/negotiation, compliance oversight, education, safety support, and corporate governance guidance.

Jim attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature. After college, Jim worked for a United States Senator in Washington, D.C. Jim attended the University of Denver College of Law where he served as a Staff Editor on the University of Denver Law Review. After law school, Jim worked at a law firm where he served as Encore’s outside attorney for many years prior to making the transition to join Encore as a member of the team.

Jim cares deeply about his community. For several years, Jim was a proud member of the Arapahoe Basin Volunteer Ski Patrol. He currently serves as a Board Member for the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame and as a Board Member for the Association of Corporate Counsel. Jim also serves on the Legislative Committee for the Associated General Contractors. Jim is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations.
