Carrie Murphy

Carrie Murphy is an experienced professional in entrepreneurship and talent acquisition with a diverse background spanning several leadership roles. Currently serving as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Encore Venture Labs since November 2024, Carrie previously held multiple senior positions at Venture For America from October 2018 to August 2024, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Programs Officer. Carrie's earlier experience includes Director of HR & Talent Acquisition at Vertical Knowledge, where the company focuses on open-source data and analytics, as well as roles at Goldman Sachs in Experienced Hire Recruiting and at Daversa Partners as an Executive Recruiter. Carrie's career began as a Talent Specialist at TheLadders, following education at Syracuse University with a B.A. in Public Policy and Strategic Management and Hathaway Brown School.
