VP & Chief Engineer at Encorp

Rick Dohmen is a Senior Applications Engineer with expertise in grid connect and islanding paralleling controls and power management for the distributed energy market. In the past 23 years, Rick has designed and commissioned paralleling systems for military and commercial micro-grid applications, cogeneration plants, data centers, hospitals, wind-diesel applications and a geothermal steam turbine plant. Rick has additional experience in SCADA systems, power flow and protection coordination studies, switchgear design, reciprocating engine control systems, gas turbine control systems, energy storage, balance of plant controls and excitation systems.

Rick has an Electronics Engineering degree from Southeast Community College in Lincoln NE. He has also completed several CEU courses including Basler Electric’s Relay Application School and University of Wisconsin’s Interconnecting Distributed Generation with Utility Distribution Systems.
