Francesca Goodman-Smith is a seasoned professional in food waste management and sustainability, currently serving as the Acting Research, Development & Extension Director and TRANSFORM Program Leader at End Food Waste Australia. Francesca leads initiatives aimed at adding value to food waste streams within a $120 million organization focused on eliminating food waste in Australia. Additionally, Francesca holds the position of Churchill Fellow at the Winston Churchill Trust and co-chairs the Upcycled Food Standards Committee, working to establish a certification for upcycled food products. Francesca is also an International Representative for the Food Waste Innovation Research Theme at the University of Otago, contributing to scientific efforts in addressing food waste challenges. Previously, Francesca has held roles such as Waste Minimisation Manager at Foodstuffs New Zealand and Graduate Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and has a robust academic background, having earned a Master of Science in Human Nutrition and Consumer Food Science from the University of Otago.
